There are many spiritual intelligences. These are some of which I have found essential. In your pursuit of healthy awakening, you should:  

Give yourself whole-heartedly to the task of awakening.

Have deep sincerity, and an intense desire to end your self-inflicted suffering.  

Take ownership of your suffering, understanding that many of us have been victims of the hardships and ignorance of others. A time comes when we must swallow the truth of our part in, consciously or unconsciously, creating such circumstances to be drawn to us. If the seed of the suffering is so deeply latent or hidden in past samskaras, we must rest faithfully in the knowing that God is forever bringing to us the ultimate medicine for our oneness with Him. Nothing is without reason and purpose, no matter how horrifying it may seem.  

Take responsibility for all of your life, past, present and future, and temper it with surrender.  

Have deep forgiveness for others, and yourself.  

Understand the development of human consciousness.  

Engage in psychological healing.  

Strive for emotional balance.  

Embrace the darkness within, equal to the embrace of your light within.  

Be self-reliant.  

Have a discerning mind.  

Develop and deepen empathy.  

Have patience. Be patient.  

Have faith.  

Be selfless.  

Be compassionate.  

Be kind.  

Be truthful.  

Be harmless.  

Be mindful.  

Be humble.  

Have fortitude.  

Surrender.  

Practice.  

Be flexible.  

Have gratitude.  

Have openness to change.  

Do right actions.  

Be authentic.  

Have integrity.  

Love solitude.  

Practice perspective-taking.  

Take risks on intuition and urgings of the heart.  

Be loving, and have a softness of heart.  

Have a balanced and eyes wide-open understanding of traditional awakening practices; discarding superstition, yet maintaining child-like openness to old and new avenues of spiritual practice.  

Have a love for something for which you will transform yourself to come into the highest vision and service of that person, mission, or delivery of that work to its highest level of attainment, in relationship to your efforts upon it by your striving to better yourself; such that your efforts are not an obstacle in the least to either of your evolution. Know that that love will test you at all costs. In passing those tests, you will achieve the grace that will gift you the ultimate medicine.
