The form is a specific entanglement with an intelligence, or intelligences, in the vast endless ocean of consciousness, from which our concentration and dwelling upon a deity can bring about an answer or insight of which we are searching for. Yes the same can be sought from direct contact and merging with the ocean itself, of course. However, until one can grasp the unfathomable vastness of the ocean, a ferryman can be very useful in the navigation therein.
